EPC-3D Electronic 3D Stereo Camera People Counter:
Our 3D Stereo Camera People Counter is a device that accurately senses and counts pedestrians in many environments and public establishments, particularly where you may have dense pedestrian traffic and in locations with unstable lighting.
Overview:
Two cameras are used in the EPC-3D in order to create a 3D model of the objects, which gives the system depth perception. This allows the system to not only determine the location and movement of the people, but also the height of the people. The result is superior accuracy. It is important to understand that this type of accuracy cannot be provided by single-camera systems.
The processor stores the gathered data in the FLASH memory and later transfers it to the data processing system.
Up to eight of these video camera people counters can be connected together to form one logical sensor for wider entrances.
Select Height Range to Sense:
You can set a height sensing range relative to the ground. This is possible because the EPC-3D has two cameras and not just one camera. This stereo vision gives the system depth perception. This gives you great flexibility and greater accuracy.
As an example, many retailers only want to include adults in their counts. Alternatively, perhaps libraries only wish to count children.
In all cases, shadows will not be mistaken for people, as can be the case with camera systems that only incorporate one camera.

Some Data Analysis Examples:
Aside from various graphing options, the EPC-3D can also provide a Tracking Map and a Heat Map.
Connecting the EPC-3D to the Network/PC:
There are three primary ways in which you can view the data. First, the EPC-3D can interface with the PC software, which is included at no additional charge. Second, it can be connected to our optional CloudWeb system for a monthly fee of $15/month. This Cloud/Web option allows the user to view the data via any web browser on computer, tablet or smartphone without the need to install any software. Third, the system also has the ability to export data so that it can be imported into third-party systems. The three images below depict these scenarios.
Powering the EPC-3D:
The EPC-3D Video Camera People Counter is connected with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable with RJ45 connectors. Power is supplied from the PoE injector (Power Over Ethernet) or network equipment.
