EPC-IRD1 Electronic Customer Counter

$229.00

The EPC-IRD1 Customer Counter is an all-in-one unit, measuring approximately 3.3″x2.2″x1.4″. The EPC-IRD1 Electronic Customer Counter System uses an infrared beam to count the people that pass through the area that is being monitored. It saves one single running traffic total and the people counting system is designed for counting people entering and leaving as one total.

Overview:

The maximum sensing distance of the EPC-IRD1 Customer Counter is approximately three feet, which will accommodate standard-sized entrances. (See the EPC-IRD1 Electronic Customer Counter & EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter for entrances wider than three feet.)

The term, “wireless” typically refers to wireless communication. However, it’s been our experience that when people typically refer to “wireless customer counters,” they don’t necessarily want a system that transmits data to a PC, the Cloud/Web or a network. Instead, what they are really referring to is a customer counter that does not have to be plugged into an A/C outlet or have any other wires that connect to a third-party device; hence, the term, “wireless.”

To that end, the EPC-IRD1 can be considered to be a wireless customer counter because it is an autonomous system that does not connect to any third-party devices. Therefore, if you’re looking for a wireless customer counter, in that it runs autonomously (by itself with no external help from other devices or networks), then the EPC-IRD1 may suit your needs.

Here are some features of this system.

Low-Battery Indicator

The EPC-IRD1 and EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter both include a low-battery indicator.

Sensor Sensitivity Delay:

The Sensor Sensitivity Delay allows you to decide if you wish to count individual people, or ‘buying parties.’

Security Code:

The EPC-IRD1 has a ‘Menu Mode,’ where user-selectable settings can be adjusted. There is a five-digit security code used to enter Menu Mode in order to prevent tampering by employees, customers or any other individuals. The options in this menu mode give an enormous amount of flexibility. These options are typically not found in customer counters in this price range.

Flexible Mounting Options:

The EPC-IRD1 Customer Counter and EPC-IRD1E can either be mounted in a Side-Firing (Quick Popup of Image) configuration or a Front-Firing (Quick Popup of Image) configuration.

Method of Sensing:

When using the EPC-IRD1 Customer Counter by itself, it uses its own internal infrared emitter and an infrared receiver to sense the people passing through the infrared beam. The infrared beam emits across the entrance. This infrared beam reflects off of the person’s clothing or skin and back to the EPC-IRD1 when that person walks through the infrared beam. The EPC-IRD1 will sense the presence of the beam for that brief period and then increment the traffic count.

When Should I use the Optional EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter with the EPC-IRD1?:

Use the optional EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter along with the EPC-IRD1 for entrances wider than three feet to create a two-piece people counting system. You can purchase the EPC-IRD1 and the EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter as two separate line items, or simply purchase the EPC-IRD1 Electronic Customer Counter & EPC-IRD1E Infrared Emitter set together. Either way, the price is the same and the equipment that you receive is the same.

Powering the EPC-IRD1:

The only items not included with the EPC-IRD1 is the batteries or A/C adapter.  The EPC-IRD1 is either powered by two AA-Sized 3.6V Lithium batteries or by an A/C adapter. The batteries have a shelf life of ten years, so you can purchase ten or more to have additional batteries on hand and so you can also receive the discount.
