The RTC-S2X Standard Door Sensor is an infrared beam sensor that is used in conjunction with the RTC-P3 Electronic People Counter.

Overview:

The RTC-S2X Standard Infrared Door Sensor can sense traffic, and differentiate between incoming and outgoing traffic. The RTC-S2X is typically used on standard-sized entrances (approximately 3 feet wide) and side-by-side double doors that are so common in public buildings.

RTC-S2X Standard Door Sensor:

The RTC-S2X Standard Door Sensor is an infrared beam sensor that is used in conjunction with the RTC-P3 Electronic People Counter.

Overview:

The RTC-S2X Standard Infrared Door Sensor can sense traffic, and differentiate between incoming and outgoing traffic. The RTC-S2X is typically used on standard-sized entrances (approximately 3 feet wide) and side-by-side double doors that are so common in public buildings.

Connecting to the RTC-P3:

The RTC-P3 can connect up to three door sensors to it. These door sensors can be either this RTC-S2X, the RTC-S2XL Long-Range Door Sensor or our RTC-MAG Magnetic Door Sensor, in any combination. These door sensors connect to the RTC-P3 via industry-standard Category 5e/6 networking cable. The theoretical distance of this cable can be 1,666 feet.

Selecting Door Sensors:

The RTC-S2X Standard Door Sensor can sense traffic on entrances as wide as approximately eight feet in directional mode and approximately 13 feet in non-directional mode.

We also offer the RTC-S2XL Long-Range Door Sensor. The RTC-S2XL  is for entrances wider than 13 feet. This long-range sensor is useful for wide entrances such as those found in mall environments.

We also offer the RTC-MAG Magnetic Door Sensor.  Unlike the RTC-S2X and RTC-S2XL, this door sensor senses door openings instead of motion of people.

Powering the Door Sensors:

An included A/C adapter powers the RTC-P3. It also powers all door sensors. Here’s how the door sensors get powered. The Category 5e/6 Networking Cable serves two purposes. First, the cable sends a signal from the door sensor to the RTC-P3 when activity is sensed. Second, but the RTC-P3 sends the power to the door sensor through this cable. This means that you do not need any power receptacle or power source at the entrance area for the door sensors.
